Membership

If you are a woman over 50 years of age and living in the Boston area, we welcome your application to the Chestnuts. We take in new members every year based mostly on attrition and thus every year there are some openings. Yearly dues are $75 and are payable by credit card. Unless a member opts not to renew, your yearly dues will be charged automatically. .

If you are interested in applying for membership to the Chestnut Group, please follow the following steps to make an application for 2026-2027 year. Our 2025 fall membership application reached capacity in just the first two days of our open period. We appreciate all your interest and enthusiasm!

We will be accepting no more than about 20 individuals this year so if you are interested in membership, please make sure your application email is sent as soon as possible on the day membership opens on September 1st.

Please note:: No applications will be accepted or reviewed if sent PRIOR to 9AM on September 1, 2026.

HOW TO APPLY

1. Applications should be sent by email to the Chestnut Group membership email at chestnutsmembership2026@gmail.com and also copied to our general Chestnut email at chestnuts2020@gmail.com.

2.‍ ‍Applications will be accepted from 9:00AM on September 1 until all spaces are filled.  Typically, we reach the limit for applications on the first or second day of open membership, so please apply first thing on September 1 if you are interested in being a member this year.

3. In your email, you must include the following information:

  • Your Name

  • Address in Boston

  • Telephone Number

  • Email

  • Chestnut member Sponsor.  (If you do not have a Chestnut sponsor, please state how you learned about the Chestnuts)

  • Personal Information:  In 60 words or less, please tell us about yourself and why you would like to join the Chestnuts.

4. The Chestnut Membership Committee will review applications and inform all applicants via email if we are able to offer you a spot.  If you are invited to join the Chestnuts, you must follow the process outlined in that acceptance email regarding creating an account and paying the annual dues within 1 week of acceptance.
